Professional Experience

Director of Production and Design, Center for Biosecurity of UPMC; Baltimore, MD, 2006-present
Responsible for producing all print, web, and multimedia publications for this think tank. Recently implemented a content management system for the Center’s Web site and have begun a branding campaign which will include a new visual identity.

Instructor, Montgomery College; Takoma Park, MD, 2006-present
Teach introductory and intermediate ceramics courses in the Department of Art . Curriculum focuses on teaching fundamental skills, while developing a visual vocabulary and personal voice.

Senior Graphic/Web Designer, Johns Hopkins University; Baltimore, MD, 2000-2006
Art directed, designed, and produced web sites and print publications in a small design studio internal to the university, clients included internal departments as well as non-profit organizations in the Maryland area. Administered the University’s content management and digital asset management systems. Actively promoted Web accessibility and standards compliant Web design by developing curriculum additions for web development classes offered to employees and by coordinating conferences as part of the University Web Accessibility Committee.

Technical Skills

Computer : : Fluent in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator CS; Macromedia Flash, Dreamweaver, and Fireworks MX 2004; QuarkXpress; HTML and CSS; and Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word. Working knowledge of Macromedia Director 8 and Java script.

Photography : : Studio photography, large format and pin hole photography, processing and printing of black and white film, and color printing. Also experienced in various alternative processes and digital imaging.

Three-dimensional : : Skilled in basic woodworking and building techniques, including furniture making and light construction. Knowledgeable in clay and glaze chemistry, hand-building, wheel-throwing, slip casting, and tile making. Experienced in machining and assembling metal parts and casting bronze, aluminum, and iron.
